Ronald Paul Louth

Ronald Paul Louth passed away at the age of 82 on December 15, 2020, at Great River Medical Center, Burlington, IA of COVID-19 complications.

Ron was born in Waukegan, IL on September 22, 1938.  Some of his employers included Peter Pan Baker, Sanitary Dairy and Rockwell International where he was supervisor.  Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and farming.  He liked to watch westerns and football.  Ron was an avid reader and especially loved to read his favorite western novelist, Louis L’ Amour.

He married Shirley Mae (Iseman) in Lockridge, IA on July 12, 1956.  After their marriage, they lived in numerous places before they moved to Birmingham, Iowa in 1963 and settled down on their farm.  Ron is survived by his wife, Shirley; his sons, Terry (Jill) Louth and David (Karen) Louth both of Birmingham; and daughters Sherry (Steve) Gouge of Ottumwa and Tammey (Robert) Saffo of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughter-in-law, Joann of Ogden, UT; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Timothy and Perry; his parents, Dorothy (Stoner) Nelson and Chet Louth; his step-father, Kenneth Nelson; his brother, Richard Louth; and his sister, Patricia Davisson.

In lieu of flowers, cards and memorials may be made to Birmingham City Park and mailed to Shirley Louth, 18754 120th Street, Birmingham, Iowa 52535.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with inurnment in Maple Hill Cemetery.
