Donald "Ray" Carruthers

Donald “Ray” Carruthers age 66 of Birmingham passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Ray was born September 3, 1954, in Keosauqua, Iowa to Donald Earl and Patricia Ann (Reece) Carruthers.  He married Deborah Marie Muhs on December 23, 1973.

Ray worked at Agra Plastics as a fork truck driver until he retired in 2017.  He enjoyed being outside hunting deer, turkeys or bears in Alaska, fishing and trapping beavers.  Ray collected and refurbished guns.    He always had a story or a joke to tell.  He will be greatly missed by his family & friends.

Ray is survived by his wife, Deborah of Birmingham; two children, Michael (Ann) Carruthers and Anita (Jeremy) Hauser; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Bud, Sam, Paul and Jack Carruthers; and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Carruthers and Patricia Roland.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
