Willard Russell Macy

Willard Russell Macy, age 90, of Stockport, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

A Masonic Service will start at 5:00 pm, Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Behner Funeral Home with visitation for family & friends to follow until 7:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am, Monday, May 1, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield with Pastor Greg Friedrich officiating. Burial will be at Wright Cemetery.

Willard was born December 24, 1926 to Delbert C. and Beulah (Van Dyke) Macy. He married Donna Jean Rizor March 14, 1948 in Fairfield Iowa. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Donna passed away on March 21, 1998.

Willard graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1945. He was a lifetime farmer starting with horses. Willard also worked 25 years at American Chain & Cable. Some of his other jobs throughout his life in addition to farming were carpentry, cream route driver, rural mail carrier and snow removal for the DOT. Willard as a member of the First Lutheran Church was active on the church council and committees. He was a member of Masons, Lions Club and Odd Fellows.

Willard is survived by his 4 children, Connie (Ken) Moore of Birmingham, IA, Kathianne Keller of Brighton, IA, Kristin Macy of Newton, IA and Charles Macy of Des Moines, IA; 3 grandchildren, Matthew Keller, Sherri Moore and Daniel (Natalee) Moore; 3 great grandsons, Jarrod Keller, Frederick Moore and Howard Moore; one sister, Lucille Stevenson of Williamsburg, IA; and one brother, Harold “Hal” (Barbara) Macy of Palmdale, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Beulah Macy; his wife, Donna Macy; one brother and sister-in-law Leonard “Len” and Sandy Macy; brother-in-law John Stevenson and special friend, Judy Anderson.
