Wayne "Jack" E. Porter

Wayne “Jack” E. Porter age 94 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Oaks.

There will be a celebration of life gathering 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Friday, December 21, 2018, at First United Methodist Church.

In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous. Cards and memorials may be mailed to 85 Broadmoor Lane, Iowa City, IA 52245.

Jack was born April 29, 1924, to Harry and Anna (Ellison) Porter in Anamosa, Iowa.  He married Bernice Juehring August 9, 1944.  She passed away December 15, 1999.   On January 14, 2002 he married Maxine Butler. She passed away June 16, 2018.

Jack served in the Navy during WW II.  He worked 36 years for Iowa Electric & Light Power Company as a foreman.  Jack committed to service by helping with Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts and American Cancer Society.  He was a member of VFW, American Legion and First United Methodist Church.

He will be missed by his 3 children, Rick (Becky) Porter, Vicky Porter and Dave (Anna) Porter; one step son, Mike (Tammy) Butler; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 2 step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anna; 1st wife, Bernice Porter; 2nd wife, Maxine Butler; two brothers, Jim and Ralph “Bill” Porter; and two sisters, Helen English and Gertrude Mollie.
