Wayne D. Kneeskern

     Wayne D. Kneeskern, 85, a resident of Richland, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025 at Washington County Hospital in Washington.

     Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland with Fr. Ben Snyder as celebrant. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to Mass at church. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery in Richland. Memorials may be made to Ss Joseph and Cabrini Parish or Friends Cemetery in Richland. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family.

     Wayne was born December 5, 1939 in Frankville, Iowa, the son of Dean and Elsie (Schultz) Kneeskern. He married Gertrude “Gert” Wolf, May 6, 1967. She preceded him in death November 19, 2013.

     Wayne worked as an accountant. Wayne and Gert owned and operated a motel in Cresco, Iowa. They moved to Richland in 1995, where he worked for Thaddeus Computing in Fairfield.

     Wayne enjoyed writing. He was proud of his articles he submitted to Neighbors Magazine. Wayne was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

     Those left to honor his memory include his children, Scott (Jill) Kneeskern of Stillwater, Minnesota and Michelle (Jamie) Snyder of Richland; grandchildren, Ellen, Noah (Rose), Abbie, and Anna Kneeskern, Fr. Ben Snyder, Nicole, Sarah, Sam, and Elizabeth Snyder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron Wolf, Sherry Wolf, Deb Wilkins, and Gib Wolf; and many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cloy Kneeskern; and sister, JoAnn Miller.
