Wallace "Wally" K. Snead

August 15, 1950 — December 21, 2018

Wallace “Wally” K. Snead, age 68 passed away Friday, December 21, 2018.

Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 am, Friday, December 28, 2018, at Fairfield Friends Church with Pastor Len Maselli officiating.  Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Payne Cemetery in Missouri.

Memorials may be made to Old Threshers Reunion or Lions Club.  Cards and memorials may be mailed to 2475 Glasgow Road, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Wally was born August 15, 1950, in Harrison County, Missouri to Everett and Lottie (Johnston) Snead.  He married Lou Ann Thompson April 14, 1979 in Missouri.  In April they would have been married 40 years.

Wally and Lou lived in Allegan, Michigan where he worked for Rockwell as a drafter and engineer.  In 1994 he and Lou moved to Fairfield and he continued working for Rockwell.  After Rockwell closed, he starting working for Sauer Danfoss in Ames for 10 years and came home on the weekends to Fairfield.  After Wally retired, he joined a coffee club called “Therapy Group”.

Wally belonged to the Masonic Lodge and while in Allegan he was a past master.  He was also a member of the Stockport Lions and served as treasurer.  Wally gave generous to the blood bank.  He was on the Payne Cemetery Board and member of Fairfield Friends Church.  Wally loved to restore tractors and being outside doing yard work.  His inside interests were doing genealogy.

Wally will be remembered by his wife, Lou of Fairfield; siblings, Stanley (Debbie) Snead and Carol (James) Taxter both of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lottie.
