Wallace "Wally" E. Cox

Wallace “Wally” E. Cox, age 60, of Washington, formerly of Eldon passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Park View Care Center, Wayland, Iowa.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Friday, January 15, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home with Steve Pfeifer officiating.

In-lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: Eugene Cox, 1025 West Williams, Ottumwa, IA 52501.

Wally was born April 28, 1955 to Albert Dean and Marilyn (Turner) Cox in Johnson County, Iowa. He married Deb Clark July 1976.

Wally lived in Eldon from 2005 until June 2016 when he moved to Washington. He worked at Rockwell/Meritor as a machinist. Wallace’s interests were outdoor activities especially hunting and fishing, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and watching John Wayne movies.

Wally is survived by his wife, Deb Cox; his 4 children, Eugene (Whitney) Cox of Ottumwa, IA, Crystal (Matt) Breeding of Batavia, IA, Melissa (Matt) Spurgeon of Eldon, IA and Debra (Andrew) Mask of Washington, IA; 9 grandchildren; one brother, Wilson Cox of Minnesota; and one half-brother, Glenn Cox of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Dean and Marilyn Cox; and two sisters, Carol and Sheila.
