Thomas F. Hirsch

     Thomas F. Hirsch, 84, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at UI Health Care Medical Center Downtown in Iowa City.

     There will be no services held at this time.

     Tom was born August 3, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Marcus A. and Babette (Freund) Hirsch. He married Jean Kovacs, February 15, 1976 in Chicago. Tom served in the United States Coast Guard from 1963-1966.

     Tom worked as the Director of IT for Maharishi International University from 1984 – 2025. Prior to moving to Fairfield, he worked as a systems analyst manager for General American Life Insurance in St. Louis.

     Tom enjoyed playing the piano, shooting pool, table tennis, and golf and enjoyed watching baseball and basketball. He was an amateur magician and loved jokes. Tom cherished his time spent with his family.

     Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jean; children, Kenneth Hirsch of St. Louis, Missouri, Stephen (Rebecca Shoup) Hirsch of Winthrop, Washington, Theodore Hirsch of Ottersweier, Germany, and Jennie Hirsch of Cle Elum, Washington; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Shoup-Hirsch, Mira Shoup-Hirsch, and Lukas Hirsch; and brothers, Mike (Randi) Hirsch and Robert (Janet) Hirsch, both of St. Louis, Missouri.

     He was preceded in death by his parents.
