Shirley Ann Watson

Shirley Ann Watson, age 77, passed away on February 18, 2012 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Pleasant Plain Friends Church in Pleasant Plain, Iowa. Pastor Stan Bauer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery in Pleasant Plain.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

Shirley Ann Watson was born on July 13, 1935 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Sidney Hamilton Carman and Irene Belle Richards Carman. She attended Ottumwa High School. On September 28, 1962 she married Harold Keith Watson in Memphis, Missouri. Shirley and Harold had two children: John (Celia) Sidney Watson of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Jeannette (Tim) Shirley Haynie of Creston, Iowa. Shirley was a homemaker and lived in the Pleasant Plain area for most of her adult life. Her hobbies were antique shopping, crocheting, traveling and eating out. Shirley was affiliated with the Friends Church.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Harold, children: John (Celia) Watson and Jeannette (Tim) Haynie, eight grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and one brother: Glen (Darlene) Carman of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Alfred Carman, three sisters: Helen Marshall, Donna Funk, and Lorene Rusch, and one great-grandson.
