Ruth Elizabeth Gesling

Ruth Elizabeth Gesling, age 90, of Fairfield, Iowa passed away December 19, 2012 at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Innis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service.

Memorials can be made to the Nazarene Church and Parkview Care Center Activity Fund. Cards and memorials can be sent to Sandy Downing, 1229 South Sheridan, Ottumwa, Iowa.

Ruth was born October 7, 1922 to Edward and Ada Hurley West in Fairfield, Iowa. She was married to Glenn W. Gesling. He passed away on November 10, 2003.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She worked in the wrapping department of Universal and J&B Plastics. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, circle word books, going to garage sales, spending time with family and friends, enjoyed Christmas shopping and eating M&M's.

Ruth is survived by two daughters: Sandra (Larry) Downing and Patricia Jacobs, Ottumwa, IA and one son Stanley (Fern) Gesling, Fairfield, IA and four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great, great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and son-in-law, Art Jacobs.
