Ronald "Ron" Eugene Johnson

Ronald “Ron” Eugene Johnson age 70 of Fairfield, passed away July 9, 2022, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on May 10, 2024 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on May 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Ron was born March 19, 1952, to Keith and Jo Ann (Angstead) Johnson.   He married Kimberly Gorman on May 26, 1979.  They later divorced.

Ron graduated from Fairfield High School in 1971.  He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served four years, assigned to the Aircraft Carrier USS Constitution.

Ron worked at Blue Bird as a painter and riveter until they closed.  He then started working at Hawkeye Steel as a welder.  Some of Ron’s interests were playing video and computer games and golfing.

Ron will be missed by his daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Hastings of Washington and Terri (Dustin Boone) Van- Deuren of Mt. Pleasant; 4 grandchildren, Sydney Hastings and Richard Hastings, Elizabeth Van-Deuren and Thomas Van-Deuren; his mother, Jo Ann Johnson, Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Michael Wayne Johnson, Citrus Heights, CA and David Bryan Johnson, Chatham, IL.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Keith.
