Our hearts are heavy at the passing of Roger Craig Fleig, dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many, who passed away on December 31, 2017.

He was raised on the family farm southeast of Libertyville, where he attended Liberty Country School and the Libertyville Elementary. He graduated from the Fairfield High School in 1968. Roger was a member of the Iowa National Guard for many years. He was also an expert carpenter and home builder in several states. He worked as a pipefitter on nuclear submarines at Naval Shipyards in the states of California and Washington.
Roger partially completed his bucket list by achieving “certified steam engine operator” where he especially loved the annual trips to Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant accompanied by great friends and frequent visitors, Daryl and Bernie from Roy, Washington.
