Robert Bynum Ferrell age 93 of rural Fairfield, Iowa passed to his eternal rest on Saturday April 9, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospital Emergency Room in Iowa City, Iowa.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, April 14, 2016 at The First Baptist Church in Fairfield with Pastor John Kermott officiating. Private family burial of cremains at Evergreen Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Robert was born December 17, 1922 in Obion County, Tennessee to J.W. and Mary Lee (Harmond) Ferrell.
He moved to Iowa with his parents and younger brother during the Great Depression. He attended rural Jefferson County, Iowa schools and graduated from FHS in the class of 1942. He ran track in high school and competed in the Drake Relays. He married his high school sweetheart, Vivienne Nelson December 24, 1943 in Fairfield. Vivienne passed away three months before their 49th wedding anniversary. Bob, as he was known, worked at the Iowa Malleable Iron Company in Fairfield for 38 years and was a life-long Jefferson County farmer, raising livestock and crops. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter Carol Lee Kessel, son-in-law Bob Kessel, three grandsons Jacob, Joshua and Jonathan Kessel, his brother Glenn Ferrell and wife Connie, sister-in-law Alice Ferrell, dear friend Diane Shannon all of Fairfield along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and younger brother James Ferrell.
