Raymond Eugene "Gene" Heckethorn

Raymond Eugene “Gene” Heckethorn passed away at home after a long illness on October 15, 2018.

Gene was born on November 16, 1954, to the parents of Raymond Henry and Violetena Vivian (Hartley) Heckethorn in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Gene married Betty Miller in 1974 and had two children.  They later divorced.

Gene is survived by his children, Shane and Patty Heckethorn of Ottumwa; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jade of Ottumwa; 4 sisters, Laura Vogt of Fairfield, Lennice Hazelwood of Ottumwa, Lucy Elliot of Mishawaka, IN and Carol Lord of Austin, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings Henry Edward Heckethorn, Blanche Lillian Elmore and Hazel Lucinda Shondel.

Gene will be cremated.  There will be no services.  His cremains will be buried at a later date.
