Paul Dee Johnson, age 72, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. His body has been cremated.

Friends may pay their respects to the family 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 102 Burlington in Libertyville, IA.

No burial services are planned.

Paul Dee Johnson was born October 29, 1934 in Ottawa, IL.to Harry E. and Clara Mae Wettengate. He was a Korean War veteran. Paul married Shirley Eklund in July, 1973 in Fairfield. She died August 7, 2001.

Paul was a roofer for 40 years and worked in Utopia Park Maintenance for 8 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his children and their families: Brian Johnson and wife Peg of Fairfield, Becky Benton of Des Moines, IA, Kathy Farrier of Fairfield, Paula Vandl and husband Richard of Fairfield, and Jeff Farrier and wife Sally of Fairfield. Paul has 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, and seven brothers and sisters.
