Naomi Mae Tedrow

Naomi Mae Tedrow age 95 of Fairfield passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Jefferson County Health Center.

There will be an open visitation from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home for people to sign the guest book.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, November 7, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Diane Brokken officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Naomi was born September 28, 1921 to Oliver Wendell and Mabel Vera (Stecher) Bailey in Ellisville, IL. She married Rayburn Joseph Tedrow September 14, 1940. He passed away December 29, 1993.

Naomi grew up in Illinois and moved to Iowa after she got married. She started working outside the home November 1965 at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital. In March 1972 Naomi started working at Jefferson County Hospital until June 1975 when she was laid off. September 1975 Naomi was rehired at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital where she worked until she retired June 1984. After she retired she started making quilts, latch hooking and embroidering. Naomi was on a bowling league and did a lot of subbing. She and Ray sold the farm in 1970 and they moved to town. Naomi enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and playing bingo.

Naomi is survived by her two children, Judy Fisher of Kansas City, MO and Glenn (Earla Jean) Tedrow of Fairfield, IA; 3 grandchildren, Patty Carranza, Glenda Longren and Robert Connolly; 6 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy (Charlie) Dilts of Ellisville, IL and Vera Williamson of Galesburg, IL.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Mabel Bailey; her husband, Rayburn Tedrow; 6 brothers, Glenn, Warren, Elmer, Murl, Wayne, Ralph; and 4 sisters, Mable, Velda, Betty and Ruth.
