Nancy was born August 17, 1933, in Fairfield to John and Mabel Earley. She married Wayne Eugene Davis September 6, 1953. They were married 61 years before he passed away August 7, 2015.
Nancy grew up in Fairfield and after high school she went to nursing school at Iowa Methodist in Des Moines, achieving her Bachelor’s in nursing. Nancy worked as a nurse until starting a family in 1959 and then she stayed at home with her children. When her children were older, she started working outside the home at a nursing home in Marshalltown, Iowa, retiring in 1993, the same year as Wayne.
During her lifetime she enjoyed many different things: travel, the company of good friends and family, puzzles (both word search and jigsaw), a good movie (as long as it was a love story), Thanksgiving dinner, hot and spicy food, bridge club, Christmas, Osco Drug employee picnics and gatherings, good music (she loved Elvis and The Lettermen), but most of all, she loved reading. It was her passion. She had a library that many would be envious of. She loved her books.
Left to share Nancy’s memories are her children, Kristina Drinkut, Tamara Davis, and Michael Davis; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Creese, Jason Creese, Chetan Sahu, Jamini Sahu, Brennin Davis; and two great-grandchildren: Kristina Johnson and Janelle Johnson
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Earley; her husband, Wayne Eugene Davis; and brother, Joe Earley.
