Michael Harry Kelley, 87, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on his upcoming birthday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael’s name may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Mike was born January 27, 1938 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin the son of Arthur and Mildred (Kresen) Kelley.

Throughout his life, Mike worked as a land surveyor, cab driver, and philosopher. He taught eastern philosophy while in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Mike was a deep and free spirit. He started Transcendental Meditation after meeting Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and later became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation. Mike was adventurous, independent, and sometimes stubborn, but was always generous and had a great love for people.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Stephen Kelley of Fairfield, and Wanda Kelley of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; and grandchildren, Shenadoah, Clara, Savannah, Mhari, and Fraser.
