Marilyn Joyce Ward

Marilyn Joyce Ward age 87 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Parkview Care Center.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 , at Behner Funeral Home.  Following the visitation, she will be cremated.

Graveside Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 13, 2018 , at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Dianne Brokken officiating.

Memorial may be made to the donor’s choice with cards and memorials mailed to David Shaw, 204 E. Main, Richland, IA 52585.

Marilyn was born February 12, 1931 in Fairfield, IA to Orin A. and L. Beatrice  Ward.

Marilyn lived in Fairfield all her life.  She worked at JB Plastic and Tenco as supervisors.  Marilyn loved having people come and visit her.  When they would go to leave she would always say “Thank you for coming”.

She is survived by nephew, Jeff (Judi) Ward of Mesa, AZ; two nieces, Nicki Parton and Wendy (Phil) Stricklin both of San Tan Valley, AZ; and their families; her adopted family, Susan Nichols of Republic, MO, Heather O’Neil of Kenner, LA, Larry Hickenbottom of Batavia, IA and David (Janice) Shaw of Richland, IA and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Tom (Dorothy) Ward; adopted family, Robert and Betty Shaw and Peggy Hickenbottom.
