Lloyd Constant Buch, age 86, passed away November 2, 2010 at the Jefferson County Health Center.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father William Kneemiller officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery, in Mt. Pleasant.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church and prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Lloyd Buch Family for Catholic Charities and sent c/o 215D Southgate Circle Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Lloyd was born August 17, 1924 in Keota, Iowa to Leo and Geneva Adrian Buch. He married Catherine Coen on October 16, 1948 in Burlington.
Lloyd was a veteran of WWII and his main occupation was farming. He also sold real estate and was county weed commissioner for 3 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and an officer in all 4 offices of the Holy Name Society. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4092 and a charter member of the Parish Council and a member of the building committee for DeCoursey Hall. He sang in the church choir for years and was on the senior citizens board for 4 years. His hobbies were collecting information about his genealogy and collecting model tractors. He enjoyed sports, his friends, traveling and dancing. He had a deep love for Our Lord, his faith and his family.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, 4 children: Mary Morrone (Ray Gieselman) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Ron (Marsha) Buch of St. Charles, Iowa, Alan (Kim) Buch of Charlotte, North Carolina and Theresa Ann Small of Fairfield, 15 grandchildren: Bart Buch, Brett Buch, Amanda Bennett, Jennifer Morrone, Patrick Morrone, Michael Morrone, Jessie Gieselman, Jeremiah Gieselman, Michelle Buch, Anthony Buch, Carl Buch, Cody Buch, Peter Buch, Joel Baumgartner and Samuel Small, 5 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings: Leonard (Joan) Buch of Fairfield, Keith (JoAnne) Buch of Fairfield, Evalee Mickey of North Liberty and Donna (Don) Shelangoski of Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded by his parents, 1 son: Jerry Buch, 1 brother: Gene Buch and 1 sister: Bernadine Sheetz.
