Lindley Arthur Bissig

June 15, 1916 — January 6, 2005

Lindley Bissig was born in Packwood, IA to Gustav and Grace Southwick Bissig. He graduated from Packwood High School and the Ottumwa Business School of Ottumwa, IA.

Lindley married Charlotte Lucile Miller on April 25, 1954 in the Mt. Zion Church near Libertyville, IA.

He was was employed as Payroll Manager at Iowa Malleable Iron company for almost 52 years before his retirement. Lindley was a member of the Fairfield Lions Club, United Methodist Men, Howard Johnson Coffee Club, United Methodist Church Choir and the Barbershop Quartet. His hobby was Horseshoe Pitching.

Lindley is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his children and their families; Robert Lite, Betty Smith of Albia, IA, John & Mary Beth Bissig of Burlington, IA, Jim & Diane Bissig of Mason City, IA and Jerry Bissig of Fairfield, IA. He was grandfather to ten grandchildren.

Lindley was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Susan Mae Bissig.

Funeral Services for Lindley Arthur Bissig were held 10:00am Monday, January 10, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, IA with Rev. Mike Metz officiating.
