Larry DeWayne Barton

Larry DeWayne Barton, age 74, passed away peacefully Monday, April 25, 2016 at Parkview Manor at Wellman, Iowa.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2016 at Faith United Methodist Church, Libertyville, IA with Pastor Beth Bell officiating. Burial will be at Fell Cemetery, Libertyville, IA with military rites.

Visitation for family and friends will be 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm directly preceding the funeral at Faith United Methodist Church.

Larry was born on February 21, 1942, in Fairfield, to DeWayne and Lorraine Barton. He had two siblings: Dennis and Carol. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961 and married Charlotte Eckwall in 1965. They had no children.

He served with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1962 through 1964 and later worked at Plexco in Fairfield and drove a semi for Dickey Transport. Larry was a member of the First United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion and A.A. since 1988.

Larry is survived by his sister, Carol Streed; sister-in-law, Connie Barton; and the following nieces and nephews, Mark Streed, Angela Copeland, Kristin Streed, Rick Barton and Shannon Hiatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis Barton.
