In-lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been setup at Iowa State Bank in Fairfield, IA. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: Terry and Carla Longerbeam, 1105 South 6th Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Kyle was born June 22, 1991 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA to Terry and Carla (Hemrich) Longerbeam.
Kyle graduated from Fairfield High School Class of 2009. He was a member of the Southeast Iowa Skeet Club. Kyle’s passion was to be outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. After Kyle realized he could pursue bigger dreams, he left the white-tailed deer land of Iowa and relocated to Alaska, where he could hunt what many only dream of. While in Alaska, he purchased a piece of land, got his pilot license, and started flying his own aircraft. Kyle found his faith and was very active at the Lake Clark Bible Churchin Port Alsworth, AK.
Kyle loved to live and lived to love. He was an old soul and loved nothing more than sitting in John’s gun shop or sitting by a fire on a mountainside taking it all in. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a blessing to everybody who he had contact with and their lives are better for having him in it. If something didn’t go as planned or there was a minor hiccup in life, Kyle would simply say, “It’ll buff out” and somehow, it always did. He could be the quietest in the room until he broke into a fit of hysterical antics, making any situation better and bringing smiles to all. Without Kyle, the world is a little less bright, little less adventurous and a lot less goofy.
When Kyle reached Heavens gates, God spoke to him, “Kyle, the wings of your plane could only fly you so high, your new wings will fly you the highest you have ever gone.”
Kyle is survived by his parents, Terry and Carla Longerbeam of Fairfield, IA; one brother, James “J.J." Longerbeam of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Jessica Anderson of Fairfield, IA; his fiancé, Abbey Wells of Port Alsworth, AK; nephews Oliver and Asher Longerbeam of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Karin Hemrich of Fairfield, IA; Honorary Grandparents, John and Melva Dahl of Fairfield, IA; and his beloved dog, Beamer.
Kyle is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Bonnie Longerbeam; and his brother-in-law, Jesse Anderson.
