Kenneth "Kenny" Allan Thys

Kenneth “Kenny” Allan Thys age 79, of Fairfield, passed away October 19, 2017, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center.

Visitation for family & friends will be 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 21, 2017, prior to the 2:00 pm service at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Frosty Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Tenco Industries, Fairfield.

Kenny was born April 18, 1938 to Maurice “Ric” and Dorothy (Bogardus) Thys in Fairfield, IA.

Kenny worked at Tenco from 1973-2011. He was one of their first employees and enjoyed working long past retirement age. Kenny attended Camp Reece (Lake Darling) and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved dancing, going bowling and putting puzzles together. Kenny always looked forward to spending time with his family.

Left to share Kenny’s memory are his nephew and nieces, Daniel Goettsche of Fairfield, IA, Andrea (Mark) Hagist of Ottumwa, IA, Marcy (Michael) Murphy of Brighton, IA, Kay Hutton of Indianola, IA and Andrea (David) Crow of Winfield, MO; several great nieces & nephews, sister-in-law, Esther Goettsche; and special friend, Cheryl Sheetz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Roy Goettsche; niece, LuAnn Goettsche; and great nephew, Ethan Roy Murphy.
