Kenneth "Ken" Lee Moore

March 17, 1945 — July 23, 2017

Kenneth Lee Moore, age 72, of Birmingham passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at home with family.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life to honor Ken will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 4, 2017, at Behner Funeral Home with burial in Wright Cemetery.

Ken, son of Frederick W Moore and Maurine J Leavitt was born March 17, 1945 in Fairfield, Iowa. He was in the last graduation class of Birmingham High School in 1962 and served in the US Army Reserves 1966 through 1969.

On June 29, 1974, he married Connie Macy at her parents’ home. She survives, as does their daughter Sherri Moore of Birmingham, their son Daniel and his wife Natalee, two grandsons Frederick and Howard Moore all of Beaverton, Oregon and his sister Marilyn Apple of Kyle, Texas. His parents preceded him in death.

Ken was a mechanic for more than 55 years working at Speed City, the Studebaker, Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet dealerships and owning his own service station in Fairfield. He operated Lick Creek Engineering from his home and also retired from the Iowa DOT after 23 years. Ken enjoyed attending auctions and selling items on the internet.
