Karen Elaine Stoltz

Karen Elaine Stoltz age 78 of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at her home.

Visitation for family and friends will be 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Behner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 with words of comfort by Steve Burns. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Karen was born January 30, 1940, in Estherville, IA to Thorben and Cora (Plautz) Houge. She married Ronald E. Stoltz on January 25, 1958. They were married 56 years before he passed away August 15, 2014.

Karen spent many years working in customer service at Pamida and Econofoods. She most recently worked at Yummy’s. She enjoyed playing solitaire and watching sports on TV. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and following her grandchildren in extra curricular activities. She truly believed in angels.

Left to share her memories are her 6 daughters, Debbi (Chris) Davis of Libertyville, Cindy Stoltz of Fairfield, Kathy (Mike) Peters of Front Royal, VA, Ronda (Kent) Whitney, Jodi (Phil) Stoltz and Jamie (Gary) Stoltz all of Fairfield; 16 grandchildren, Christie Kessel, Terri Kness, Joshua Kurtz, Dustin Kurtz, Joey Horak, Chad Davis, Cassie Horak, Corbin Harwood, Jordan Whitney, Mackenzi Harwood, Monica Stoltz, Nathan Whitney, Charlie Klett Jesse Klett, Talli Klett, and Shanika Klett; 12 great grandchildren and one on the way; 3 siblings, Arlene (Chuck) Nourse of Estherville, Toby (Barb) Houge of Dolliver, IA and Everett (Janet) Houge of Superior, IA; and brother-in-law, Paul Timmins of Ankeny, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; two sisters, Janice Timmins and Evy (Merritt) Hoffmeyer.
