Judy Louise Mote

Judy Louise (Steele) Mote age 69 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

Viewing will be at the Packwood Cemetery at 9:30 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 prior to graveside funeral service. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am with Pastor Gloria Friedrich officiating and burial will follow the service.

Judy was born October 22, 1945 to William N. and Agnes V. (Woodburn) Steele in rural Packwood, IA. She married Lee Roy Mote Jr. on July 24, 1970. He died November 22, 1992.

Judy graduated from Fairfield High School class of 1964. She attended National Transportation School in Kansas City and graduated. She worked for the college for a while. Judy was hired as an Instructional Secretary with the Kansas City School District. She and her husband lived in the Kansas City / Belton area for 39 years, Judy moved back to Iowa in 2003.

Judy enjoyed making crafts and she loved making candy and cookies from scratch. Judy especially loved listening to music and attending concerts, she even befriended the entertainers. She adored the country, taking care of others and helping people.

Judy is survived by two brothers; Terry E. (Kay) Steele of Fairfield, IA, and Jerry D. (Mary) Steele of Lockridge, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Mote; two brothers, Rex and Gary Steele; and her parents, William and Agnes Steele.
