Judith Kay Freudenberg, age 78 of Burnsville, MN formerly of Fairfield passed way, April 25, 2016.

Visitation for family and friends will be 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, IA.

Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, IA with Pastor Todd Holman officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA. Following the burial there will be a reception at Walton Club, Fairfield, IA.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: Wendy Carson, 4760 London Lane, Eagan, MN 55122.

Judith was born June 24, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, IA to Christine Elizabeth Gorrell Haney and Paul Howard Haney. She moved to Fairfield, IA, and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1955. She attended Parson’s College, Fairfield, IA, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Judy worked at JC Penny during high school and college and met Mr. JC Penney when he retired. After college, Judy worked as a physical education teacher in Oelwein, IA until she married in 1966, at which time Judy became a house wife and mother to Wendy Freudenberg Carson (born 1967) and Darin Paul Freudenberg (born 1968). After her divorce in 1977, she worked at Plexco, Inez Fashion, The Elks Club, Iowa Electric and a construction company that built commercial buildings in Fairfield. In 2000, Judy moved to Apple Valley, MN to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law Kit, and become part-time nanny for her newborn twin granddaughters Courtney and Chloe, who were joined by granddaughter Cassidy in 2003. In August, 2011, Judy had a stroke and moved to Augustana Regent, Burnsville, MN until her passing. Judy’s passions were playing golf, playing bridge and painting, whether it be oils, water color, or pastels of flower, landscapes and birds. Judy also enjoyed sketching animals, mostly dogs and birds.

She is survived by and will be terribly missed by her loving daughter, son-in-law, and three precious granddaughters. Judy loved her family dearly.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Christine Haney; her beloved son, Darin; and one sister, Jacqueline Haney Crow.

In Apple Valley, MN, White Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements and in Fairfield, Behner Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
