John J. Haifley

John J. Haifley age 86, of Fairfield, Ia. passed away May 4, 2010 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, Ia.

Funeral Service are 2:00 pm Friday May 7, 2010 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Howard Innis officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be May 7, 2010 from 1:00 pm till service time at the First Church of the Nazarene.

John J. Haifley was born February 24, 1924 to John L. and Estella May Hafer Haifley. He married Ruth Esther Green on June 6, 1948 in Fairfield at the First Church of the Nazarene.

John went to the Jackson township School, he attended Parson's college. John attended the Chicago Evangelistic School. He held different jobs as a gangway man for Iowa Malleable, and did utilty work for Iowa Ordanace Plant. John was a Navy Seabee serving in the SW Pacific and held rank of Yeoman 2nd class. John went to Medical Cadet School with the Iowa National Guard. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. John was a former member of VFW.

John is survived by his wife Ruth Haifley of Fairfield, one daughter Sharon Haifley of Fairfield, 2 Sisters Charlotte Prusia of Fairfield, Jean Dodds of Fairfield, and one brother Robert Haifley of Fairfield.

John was preceded by his parents, and one sister Patricia Findlay.
