JoAnn Thys

JoAnn Thys, age 82 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield, IA.

Per JoAnn’s request she has been cremated. There will not be any visitation or service. Burial of Cremains will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

JoAnn Thys was born March 29, 1932 to Clarence and Esther (Stephenson) Burnett. She married Lawrence Thys October 5, 1952. He passed away December 30, 1996.

JoAnn lived in Fairfield all her life. She owner/operator of Miti Mart for 20 years before she retired 2005. She enjoyed all sports, was a Hawkeye fan and liked to watch all kinds of racing.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Troy Thys; and one granddaughter, Tyra Thys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Esther Burnett; two sisters, Wilma Anderson and Alberta Johnson.
