Jerrod Wayne Carlson

Jerrod Wayne Carlson age 37, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, at his home in Burlington.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Van Nyhuis officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Floris, IA.

Jerrod was born February 18, 1980 to Wayne Carlson and Zelda (Williams) Roberts in Fairfield, IA.

Jerrod graduated from Fairfield High School. He served in the Army with the 389th Engineer Battalion during the Gulf War in Iraq. On one of his leaves he surprised his son, Dillan at school. Jerrod worked for the City of Burlington in the sanitation department. He collected license plates and antiques. Jerrod liked being outside hunting and fishing. He enjoyed working out, UFC fights and 5K run with his kids. What meant the most to Jerrod was spending time with his family.

Left to share Jerrod’s memories are his parents, Wayne and Tracy Carlson and Zelda and Adrian Roberts; his son Dillan and Dillan’s mom, Kim Helterbran; Tina Todd, mother of 3 step children, Latasha, Brett and Joshua; 8 grandchildren, Gracie, Gavin, Bryce, Nora, Henry, Jessa, Jeremiah and one to be born soon; 3 siblings, Byn (Patrick) Always, Denver (Erin) Carlson and Michon(Doug) Edle; and his girlfriend, Martha McGourty.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion and Darlene Williams, Walter and Dema Carlson; and one brother, Dusty Carlson.
