James "Jim" Williams, 84, a resident of Birmingham, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

There will be no services held at this time. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family.

He was born January 15, 1942 in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Paul and Slyvia Williams. He married Lynnette Baldwin on February 27, 1963. They were married until her passing on January 7, 1997. He married Jackie Calhoun on November 8, 1997, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Jim worked in mechanics and construction for most of his life. He enjoyed junking in his garage.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jackie; two sons, Donald (Jamie) Williams and Jeremy (Dawna) Williams of Fairfield, Iowa; one daughter, Lynnette (Melvin) Hostetter of Fairfield, Iowa; one step daughter, Robin (Jerry) Shafer of Ottumwa, Iowa; two step sons, Donnie Stevens of Fairfield, Iowa and Clifford Williams of Florida; two brothers, Steven (Marty) Williams of Fairfield, Iowa, and William “Bill” (Brenda) Williams of Ottumwa, Iowa; two sisters, Opal (Don) Eland of New London, Iowa and Paula (Larry) Cook of New London, Iowa; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lynnette (Baldwin) Williams; one son, James (Jimmie) Williams; four brothers, Jack Williams, Marion Williams, Keith Williams, and Edwin (Bud) Williams; and two sisters, Aletha Schwantes and Mable Ruiz.
