James Merlin Nelson, age 47 of Fairfield passed away February 11, 2017

A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at VFW.

James was born on December 5,1969 in Des Moines to Merlin and Joe Frances (Ayila) Nelson.

James worked in construction. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with his friends and family. James loved the Dallas Cowboys and he collected Harley Davidson memorabilia.

James is survived by his parents, Merlin and Joe Nelson of Des Moines, IA; one brother, David (Andrea) Summers of Birmingham, IA; 4 sisters, Genia Ollom of Fairfield, IA, Sonia Deters of Fairfield, IA, Laura Nelson Scott of Des Moines, IA, and Sue Cosper of Des Moines, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents; and one brother, Victor Nelson.
