Jackie “Jack” Hagans, age 75, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Jefferson County Health Center.

Per his wishes the body has been cremated. There will be a private family service at a later date.

Jack Hagans was born January 14, 1942 to Paul and Georgia (Miles) Hagans. He married Luella Calhoun August 12, 1960. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before she passed away September 25, 2015.

Jack lived all his life in Fairfield. He worked for Heckethorn Roofing and Garrison Contractors & Co. Jack enjoyed horseback riding, his mules, coon hunting and loved to watch western movies.

Jack is survived by his 3 children, Rick (Lucy)Hagans of Selma, IA, Laura “Chris” (Donald) Wagner of Ottumwa, IA and Jack Hagans II of Fairfield, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Richard (Linda) Hagans of Brighton; and two sisters, Carol Hagans Branstetter and Patty (Elmer) Heckethorn of Fairfield, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Georgia Hagans; his wife, Luella Hagans; one daughter, Cindy Blythe; one brother, Bud Hagans; and 4 sisters, Maxine Holmes, Shirley Wolverton, Violet Scotton and Barbara Fell.
