Inez Kathryn Hisel

Inez Kathryn Hisel, age 93 of Fairfield, passed away, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Brase officiating.  Burial will be at Lockridge Cemetery, Lockridge, IA.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, St Jude Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warriors.  Cards and memorials may be mailed to Rhonda Young, 206 East Broadway, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Inez was born December 17, 1924, to Otto and Velda (Allender) Hildebrand.  She married Richard Hisel September 19, 1948, at Four Corners, IA.  He passed away January 3, 1985.

Inez graduated from Lockridge High School Class of 1942. She attended Parsons College and received her teaching certificate.  Inez was a teacher and a homemaker.  She enjoyed quilt making but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.   Inez was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, LWML Ladies Circle and Ladies Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered at the Bargain Box.  Inez will be missed by those who called her mom, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, aunt and friend.

Left to share Inez’s memories are her 4 daughters, Kathy (Louie) Slavens of Denton, TX, Lois Hisel, Rhonda Young and Sherri (Tim) Smith all from Fairfield, IA; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Velda Hildebrand; her husband, Richard Hisel; two brothers; 1 great grandson; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and one son-in-law.
