Howard William Moore Jr., age 80 of Fairfield, IA passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Parkview Care Center.

Visitation with the family will be held 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 25, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home with Kevin Schrader and Lester Schlatter offering words of comfort. Interment will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, September 25, 2015 at West Chester Cemetery.

Howard William Moore Jr. was born December 26, 1934 in Des Moines, IA. He is the son Howard William Moore Sr. and Mabel Francis Gee. He was united in marriage with Mildred Ann Wallace in West Chester, IA on January 8, 1955.

Howard spent most of his life as being a mechanic where he enjoyed teaching so many people. Howard enjoyed playing softball, fishing and camping. He especially loved watching his grandsons play soccer.

Howard is survived by his 4 children, Melinda (Jerry) Mendenhall of Nashville, TN., Vicki Ritz (Charles Blythe) of Mt. Pleasant, IA., Julie (Dan) Hill of New London, IA., and Shawn (Mandy) Moore of Fairfield. Howard was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Howard is preceded by his parents, Howard and Mabel Moore; his wife, Mildred Ann Moore; and one sister, Nancy Kessel.
