Helen Louise Kisling Manley age 88 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Halcyon House in Washington, IA with family present.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Behner Funeral Home.
Informal funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home with words of comfort by Dan Manley. Burial will follow the service in Fell Cemetery, Libertyville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus and mailed to Dan Manley, 1002 S C Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Helen was born near Keosauqua on August 31, 1933, to Roy and Evelyn (Brown) Kisling. She married Loran “Yogi” Grant Manley on February 1, 1958. He passed away June 11, 1986.
Helen graduated from Birmingham High School class of 1952. She worked 12 years as a nurse’s aide, between Parkview Care Center in Fairfield and Lutheran Home and Papillion Manor in Omaha, NE. While living in Fairfield she also worked at Universal and Fairfield Glove. Helen was a member of the Foursquare Church. She loved sewing, crocheting, puzzles, reading and collected dolls. Most important was spending time with her family.
She will be missed by her children, Dan Manley, Debra Franklin and David Manley of Fairfield, Doug (Linda) Manley of Eldon, Darryl Manley of Arizona and Dixie (David) Harrison of Washington; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Dean, Lola, Carol Ann, Mildred and Grace; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Eveylin; husband, Loran; daughter-in-law, Sherry; son-in-law, Bill; granddaughter, Angela; and 6 siblings.
