Helen B. Hoffman

Helen B. Hoffman age 96, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday April 30, 2011 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

A Private Graveside Burial at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Nate Nims officiating.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday May 5, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ia.

Helen was born November 23, 1914 in Libertyville, Iowa to Ira and Nina Youmans Scovel. She married Bruce Hoffman on Aug. 27, 1954 in Fairfield, Ia. He died October 11, 1981.

Helen B. Hoffman lived all her life in the Jefferson County area. She graduated from Libertyville High School. She was a Homemaker and a cook for Fairfield Public Schools for 13 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and D.A.R. of Fairfield. She enjoyed playing the piano, and played the organ for Lions Travel Log.

Helen is survived by 1 Son Robert (Lori) Hoffman of Des Moines, Iowa. 4 Grandchildren and families: James (Kasey) Hoffman, Sean (Lizette) Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, Abba Hoffman, 4 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Parkview Care Center, especially Deb and Lori.

Helen will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her; she truly was a special lady.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 brother Robert Scovel.
