George Sales

George Sales age 75, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, July 2, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Fairfield with Pastor John Kermott officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril, IA.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church with cards and memorials mailed to 504 W. Madison Ave., Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

George was born September 20, 1942, in Ottumwa to George and Marguerite (Woods) Sales.  He married Margie Lunsford on April 18, 1970.

George farmed and later started working at Iowa Malleable where he worked for 21 years.    Some of his outdoors activities were hunting and gardening.  George also liked to invent things.  Some of his favorite tv shows were old westerns, NBC nightly news, History Channel and he liked antique tractors. George will be missed by those who call him husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

Left to share his memories are his wife, Margie of Fairfield; daughter, Tina Cardis of Fairfield; stepdaughter, Tammy (Daryn) Hamilton of Fairfield; grandson, Joshua Cardis; step grandchildren, Elizabeth (Alex) Seaman and Sergeant Michael Hamilton USMC; sister-in-law, Judy Sales; nephew, Tony Sales; niece, Julie (Wayne) Liebig and ex son-in-law, Steve Cardis.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Sales; and nephew, Albert Sales Jr.
