Frank Edward Willey, age 98, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Arbor Court, Mt. Pleasant, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Monday, February 18, 2019, at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield. Burial with military honors will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Combat Vets Association or Great River Hospice. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Joyce Conrad, 1500 S. Spruce Ave., Mt. Pleasant, IA 52641.
Frank was born December 24, 1920, in New London, IA to John and Nellie (Beams) Willey. He married Evalyn Agnes Hoskins on July 20, 1940. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before she passed away February 23, 2008.
Frank served in the Navy during WWII as a Fireman First Class on USS Birmingham. He lived in Fairfield, Montrose, Fort Madison (4 years) and Mt Pleasant (1 ½ years). Frank was VP of Allied Molders Union as a union organizer.
Frank was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Fairfield and Allied Molders Union. Some of his interests were fishing, gardening, winemaking, politics and most of all spending time with family & friends.
Frank will be missed by his children, Wayne (Betty) Willey and Steve (Sandy) Willey; daughter-in-law, Leota Willey; sons-in-law, Terry Neeley and Dick St. Clair; 9 grandchildren, Brenda (Larry) Rich, Rhonda (Jim) Molter, Joyce (Doug) Conrad, Robin Willey, Jane Willey, Shannon St. Clair, Bryan Neeley, Jonathan Willey, and Erin Roberts; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evalyn; sons, Lawrence, James and Carl; daughters, Linda (Ralph), Pam and Sandra; grandsons, Wade and Shane; and his siblings, Mary, Idie, Stub, John, Wes, Bob and Alice.
