Francis Ronald “Ron” Nokes, age 79 of Fairfield, passed away December 19,2016 at Parkview Care Center.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Thursday , December 22, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Marble Valley Cemetery, in Gilmore City, Iowa.
A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Jason Titze officiating.

Ron was born on February 23,1937 in Madelia, Minnesota to Francis Sterling Nokes and Sylvia Lanora Hanson.
Ron worked at Jetco Manufacturing as a welder and also farmed. He collected John Deere memorabilia. Ron loved going to his grandchildren and great grandchildren sporting events. He was their number one fan. Ron enjoyed horses, going to horse pulls, horse sales and going to antique tractor pulls.
Ron is survived by 6 children, Dean (JoAnn) Nokes of Pella, IA, LeAnn (Chuck) Titus of Fairfield, IA, Chris (Tim) Bolander, and Jim Nokes both of Des Moines, IA, Deb Nokes of Lytton, IA, and Ronda Wallace of Washington; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two sisters, LaDonna (Roy) Yeager of Russellville, AR and Lorene Burnett (Bill Meyers) of Webster City, IA; one brother, Don (Pat) Nokes of Webster City, IA.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Sylvia Nokes; one son, Kevin Nokes; one grandson, Scott Stephenson; and one sister, RaNee Barton.
