Erma M. Williams, a cherished resident of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the home of her beloved granddaughter in Douds, Iowa. She was 94 years old.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, where Erma will be laid to rest.

Erma was born on May 21, 1931, in Birmingham, Iowa, the loving daughter of James and Sophie (Vogt) Crafton. On August 4, 1951, she married the love of her life, Keith Williams, in Kahoka, Missouri. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing on October 18, 2016.
Throughout her life, Erma contributed her talents to Metro Mail in Mt. Pleasant and Maharishi International University. Beyond her professional life, Erma embraced a variety of interests. She found joy in reading, engaging in spirited card games, tackling crossword puzzles, and expressing her creativity through sewing. Above all, she treasured spending quality time with her
grandchildren. Erma had a particular fondness for pastries and cherished memories made while camping along the river.
Erma’s warmth and love will be deeply missed by her surviving family, including her devoted grandchildren: April (Roy) Swanson of Douds, Iowa; Sandra (Jeremiah Schoenherr) Johnson of Grimes, Iowa; Juan Arreola of Fairfield, Iowa; and Eddie (Tara) Arreola of Douds, Iowa. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Colton and Justin Swanson, and Lydelle Turner, as
well as her two precious great-great-grandchildren, Harlow and Dexter Schoenherr. Erma is also survived by her dear sister, Ella Ritz of Wayland, Iowa.
Erma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith; her parents, James and Sophie Crafton; and her cherished daughter, Anita Williams.
