Elizabeth "Liz" Janette Gertrud Kwant

Elizabeth “Liz” Janette Gertrud Kwant, daughter of Jan G. Kwant and Niessien (Munneke) Kwant, passed away at the age of 70 at the Sunnybrook Care Center in Fairfield.

Preceding Liz in death was her father, Jan G. Kwant.  Liz is survived by her mother, Niessien (Munneke) Kwant, her sister, Janny Kwant and her brother, Hendrik Kwant.

Liz immigrated to the United States with her family in 1957 at the age of 5.  The family settled in Tucson, Arizona and later moved to Phoenix, where Liz completed high school.  Liz developed an interest in music and at a young age she took up the violin.  She was a truly gifted violinist and studied music performance as part of her degree.  Liz spent her life performing and teaching others, sharing the love she had for music.  She had 50 plus students that won a gold medal at Violin contests.

Liz settled down in Fairfield, Iowa where she studied at Maharishi International University and used her music to impact others.
