Eli Hopkins

Eli Hopkins 93, of Ottumwa passed away April 10, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua, Iowa.

He was born August 7, 1921 in Davis County, Iowa. He was the son of Eli Hopkins and Grace Mae (Garner) Hopkins. He was in the Navy as a Seaman First Class and had an Honorable discharge December 24, 1945. He worked many years as a Journeyman Electrician in Wisconsin and then worked on construction at the power plant near Chillicothe, Iowa.

He made his home for many years with his sister Fern and husband Jason Mallonee in Oskaloosa and then they moved to Ottumwa.

His family includes six children and many grandchildren in the Appleton, Wisconsin area where he and his former wife, who is deceased, lived. He is survived by a sister Genevive Cahill in Phoenix, Arizona. Also a niece Marla Mills and husband David of Ottumwa. Niece Judi and Don Brobston of Libertyville and nephew Mark and Karen Mallonee of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also his special great niece Deb Brobston and a special great nephew Sam Brobston of Libertyville, Iowa. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families.

His body has been cremated an no services is planned at this time. Burial will be in the Chillicothe, Iowa Cemetery.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield has been in charge of his arrangements.
