Edward "Ed" Eugene Elmore

Edward “Ed” Eugene Elmore, age 61 of Fairfield, passed away December 30, 2015 at his home.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, January 4, 2016 at Jefferson County Ag Grounds. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Ed was born June 30, 1954 to Charles Eugene and Irene Rose (Stortz) Elmore in Fairfield, IA. He married Pamela Kennedy Metz on April 25, 1980 in Fairfield.

Ed graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1972. He was a farmer and raised cattle all his life. Enjoyed deer hunting. His passion was breeding and raising cattle on the family generation farm. Ed showed cattle at the State Fair throughout his entire life. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife, Pamela Elmore of Fairfield, IA; his children, Ryan (Nikki) Metz of Fairfield, IA, Gretchen (Darrick) McLain of Stockport, IA, Kendra (Josh) Hellweg of Fairfield, IA and Amy (Josh) White of Fairfield; 11 grandchildren, Blake Metz, Brock Metz, Cameron McLain, Calvin McLain, Copper McLain, Konrad Hellweg, Grace Hellweg, Hope Hellweg, Emily White, Lauren White, and Jacob White; two sisters, Jeanette Lacey and Ruth Elmore of Fairfield, IA; one nephew, Everett Lacey of Fairfield, IA; and one niece, Jean Ann (Steve) Nelson of Good Hope, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Irene Elmore; Grandparents, Charles and Oliva Elmore and Irvin & Ethel Stortz.
