Donald Lee Polton

Donald Lee Polton, 70, of Fairfield, Iowa, formerly of Mt. Pleasant died December 15, 2020, at his home.

He was born September 19, 1950 , in Washington, IA to Mart M. and Marjorie A. Hesseltine Polton.  Don grew up in Rock Island, Illinois and graduated from Rock Island High School in 1968.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and upon discharge held various jobs in Rock Island, IL and the Washington, IA area.  He was a generous person to everyone and well loved.

Don is survived by two brothers, Gary Polton (Sue) of Davenport, IA and Jim Polton (Diana) of Moline, IL; two sisters, Marta Hanson (Jerry Anderson) of Aledo, IL and Nancy Flaherty (Tom) of Rock Island, IL; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his mother, Marjorie Polton of Rock Island, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Ed.

In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Veteran’s Affairs in Don’s name.  Cards and memorials can be sent to Tom & Nancy Flaherty at 4613 24th Ave., Rock Island, IL 61201.

A graveside service will be at a later date at the Rock Island Arsenal.
