Donald K. Hickenbottom

Donald Hickenbottom, age 92 of Fairfield, passed away July 13, 2015 at Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield, IA.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, July 17, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home. After visitation the body will be cremated.

A Memorial service will be held 10:00 am, July 18, 2015, Saturday, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Peterson. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Donald was born July 13, 1923 in Lockridge, IA to Joe and Minnie (Gohn) Hickenbottom. He married Beverly Cathey, January 15, 1945 in Memphis, MO. She passed away October 14, 2014.

Donald was a farmer and drove a feed truck for Reiff Grain and Feed. He was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching old westerns, reading and playing cards.

Donald is survived by one daughter, Janet (Carl) Adamson of Douds, IA; 3 granddaughters, Lori (Dan) Wagner of Dubuque, IA, Kim (Jon) Snyder of Mitchellville, IA and Carla (Clayton) Cubbage of Marion, IA; 7 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Minnie Hickenbottom; his wife, Beverly Hickenbottom; two sons, Dick and Doug Hickenbottom; two brothers, Ferne and Rodger Hickenbottom; and two sisters, Lois Hickenbottom and Thelma Dailey.
