Derek Mitchell Robinson

Derek Mitchell Robinson, age 19 of Fairfield, passed away May 31, 2016.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am, Friday, June 3, 2016 at Word of Life Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Fiske officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Derek was born November 4, 1996 to Matthew Robinson and Shelly (Dhein) Burnett.

Derek graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 2015. He was attending Indian Hills Community College and majoring in Laser and Optics Technology to become a Laser Tech. Derek had a lifelong love for soccer. He started playing when he was 6 for FASA and played all four years for FHS. Derek also liked to play video games. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends, family and his pets.

Derek is survived by his parents, Matthew Robinson of Fairfield, IA and Shelly (Mike) Burnett of Fairfield, IA; two brothers, David and Dagan Burnett; grandparents, Darryl and Anne Dhein and Ann Burnett; Great Grandparents, Herb Burnett and Tom and Gert Porter; aunts and uncles, Missy Robinson, Mary DeCresie, Bob (Cyndie) Dhein, Stephen Dhein, Lisa (Rob) Harder, Katie (Manny) Rangel, Joy Corwin, Eric Dhein, Michelle Burnett; and cousins, Sarah Dhein, Mersadies McGowan, Makala Dhein, Kaelynn Harder, Alexis Rangel, Alexander Rangel, Matthew Rangel, Nate Corwin, Ethan Corwin, Bryan Dhein, Kaitlyn Blomme, Jacen Blomme and Jaron Blomme.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Judy Robinson and Bob Burnett; one uncle, David Dhein; and great grandmother, Dorothy Burnett.
