Dennis B. Johnston

Dennis B. Johnston, age 57 of Fairfield, IA, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jim Wotherspoon will officiate, and burial will follow the service in Leando Cemetery in Leando, IA.

Dennis B. Johnston was born in Birmingham, IA on September 26, 1951 to Bruce and Virginia (Dockendorff) Johnston. He lived most of his life in Davis and Jefferson Counties, where he was employed as a production worker with TENCO Industries. Dennis was united in marriage with Sheila Harryman, who preceded him in death in 1995. Dennis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield, and active in AA and NA and Drop-In Center. He enjoyed sports ~ particularly the Hawkeyes, Bears and Cubs

Dennis is survived by his daughter and her family, Teresa Johnston of Ottumwa, IA; and two granddaughters, Makayla and Alexis. Survivors include his mother, Virginia Johnston of Keosauqua, IA, and two brothers, Robert Johnston and wife Jeralyn of Prophetstown, IL, and Jim Johnston and wife Rose of Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his father, and wife.
