Dema Kay Gire

Dema Kay Gire age 70 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to Dakota Gire, 810 West Depot Ave., Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Dema was born November 3, 1951, in Pittsburgh, IA to Emery Raymond and Cecil (Cox) Winters- Gire.

Dema worked for Books Are Fun setting up book fairs.  She enjoyed watching old western movies and western shows like “Gunsmoke”.   Dema also watched “All My Children” and collected state quarters.  What meant the most to Dema was spending time with family and friends.

Dema will be missed by her son, Dakota Gire of Fairfield; her siblings, Louise House of Keosauqua, Joyce Haugen of Centerville and Connie Roland of Goodlettsville, TN; and nieces and nephews.

Dema was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Cecil, and siblings, Bob Winters, Joe Winters, Edith Richardson, Marjorie Miller and Patsy Duff.
